Panamanian singer Ruben Blades got fans on their feet and dancing at a concert in the Zocalo, Mexico City’s main plaza, that also featured Carlos Vives and Marc Anthony.

Blades dedicated one of his songs to the families of the 43 education students who disappeared in southern Mexico in 2014.

Tens of thousands of people started gathering in the huge plaza on Saturday evening to listen to Blades, who performed several of his hits, including “Por tu mala maña,” “El Padre Antonio,” “Prohibido olvidar,” “El cantante” and “Pedro Navajas.”

Blades dedicated the song “Desapariciones” to the relatives of the Ayotzinapa Rural Normal School students who went missing in the southern state of Guerrero in September 2014.

“To the relatives of the missing and all Mexicans, in solidarity (I dedicate) this song that I wrote in 1982 and, unfortunately, is still current,” Blades said.

Vives took the stage after Blades, performing “Te solte la rienda” and part of “Corrido del caballo blanco” in honor of Mexican singer-songwriter Jose Alfredo Jimenez, as well as several of his other hits.

Marc Anthony closed the show with some of his most popular songs, including “Valio la pena,” “Flor palida,” “Abrazame muy fuerte” and “Ahora quien.”
