Global Gift Foundation USA More than just a gala

“Latinos have not embraced the power of our power.”

“Be kind,” mentioned Loren Ridinger, Global Gift Philanthropreneur Award Recipient at the Global Gift Gala dinner during Art Basel at the Eden Roc Hotel in Miami.

The Global Gift Philanthropreneur Award was created to recognize individuals who bring an entrepreneurial approach to philanthropy: people interested in making positive changes in the world, alleviating suffering and investing in the future.

Global Gift Foundation aims to create a positive impact on the lives of women, children and families around the world who are in need. This much-needed support of Global Gifters, worldwide ambassadors and beneficiary organizations allows for a greater impact of social transformation.

For years, the organization has had the support of several respected leaders, celebrities and philanthropists, such as Victoria and David Beckham, Luis Fonsi, Carlos Slim Helu, Mariah Carey, Deepak Chopra, Maluma, Antonio Banderas, Goldie Hawn, Will.i.am, Pitbull, Zoe Saldana and many more.

Longtime pals Ricky Martin, Eva Longoria and Carlos Vives posed together at the dinner. The gala included a cocktail reception, a three-course meal with wine pairings and live entertainment.

Longoria said she is very proud to be a bicultural Latina, “I am Mexican American; I am so proud of my culture and heritage. Sometimes, it is hard to navigate that identity. I think we need to celebrate both instead of being one or the other. I try to use my platform for good causes that are dear to my heart, that is going to help my Latino community and this country as a whole.” Longoria stunned in a sparkly, open-back black dress and strappy heels, while Martin looked dapper in a brown suit and a silky multicolored shirt.

Vives received the Global Gift Philanthropist Award for Tras la Perla, one of his most successful nonprofits that aims to revive and empower Pescaito, which is one of the most vulnerable neighborhoods in his native Colombian city of Santa Marta. The initiative is based on the cooperation and articulation of various forces that allow discovery of the potential of both the city and territory, seeking balance and sustainability in all dimensions of development.

Republican strategist and political commentator Ana Navarro, Global Gift Humanitarian Award Recipient, echoed, “Latinos have not embraced the power of our power.”
