Ketama is a Spanish group of flamenco fusión and one of the most outstanding representatives of the so-called new flamenco. Ketama presents their 2019 tour in the best theaters in Europe, the US and Latin America, with the re-mastering of the now classic De akí a Ketama album, plus four extra tracks!
Heirs of flamenco masters like Manuel Soto ‘Sordera’ or Juan Carmona ‘Habichuela’, and belonging to the third generation of the Habichuela’s, one of the great flamenco sagas, Ketama are part of a generation of unprejudiced, fearless musicians with a deep knowledge of flamenco tradition. Ketama’s first two albums meant the definite victory of ‘New Flamenco’: produced by the historical label ‘Nuevos Medios’, Ketama (1985) and La pipa de kif (1987) set the foundations of the blend of a fresh new sound with flamenco tradition.
Como mencionó el centro cultural español en Miami, Ketama cambió la forma de mirar el flamenco. Combinando el rock y el pop se ponen al día para recuperar el tiempo perdido con algo fresco y nuevo a la tradición. Cuando se publicó De Akí a Ketama, en 1995, el grupo ya llevaba más de diez años de carrera, pero todavía no había alcanzado su techo. Este disco grabado en directo con las colaboraciones de grandes artistas como Antonio Vega o Antonio Flores, les consagró definitivamente en el panorama musical nacional con más de 600.000 copias vendidas.
Más de 20 años después, los Carmona regresan porque, como dice la canción, saben lo que quieren. Una esperadísima vuelta a los escenarios que viene acompañada del lanzamiento de la reedición de De Akí a Ketama, su obra maestra masterizada en los prestigiosos estudios de Abbey Road para la ocasión. El nuevo disco incluye, además de los clásicos de su repertorio, cuatro temas nuevos, grabados en los estudios Arcadia de Pablo Cebrián, en los que la banda cuenta con las colaboraciones de lujo de Pablo Alborán y Jorge Drexler.
