A-list Cast Includes Erik Hayser, Alejandra Ambrosi, Mariana Seoane, Angélica Celaya, Damián Alcázar and Arturo Peniche, Marking His Return to Telemundo After a Decade

Telemundo announced the star-studded cast for upcoming political-thriller “Preso No. 1,” led by Erik Hayser, alongside Arturo Peniche in his return to Telemundo after more than a decade, Alejandra AmbrosiMariana SeoaneAlejandro de la Madrid and Angélica Celaya, with special appearances by Damián Alcázar, Roberto Sosa, Luis Felipe Tovar and Emilio Guerrero.

Preso No. 1 will center around Carmelo Alvarado (Hayser,) a man of humble origins and firm values who, thanks to his charisma and intelligence, ends up becoming the president of Mexico. Carmelo is falsely accused of a millionaire fraud that leads to his incarceration, causing an uproar in the country and a media frenzy. However, Carmelo will not go down without fighting back the corrupt system behind this scheme and clearing his name for the sake of his country and his family.

The stellar cast is completed by Otto Sirgo, Fernando Ciangherotti, Guillermo Quintanilla, Luis Gatica, Roberto Ballesteros, Carmen Beato, Aldo Gallardo, Eduardo Victoria, Alexis Valdés, Fabiola Guajardo, Erick Chapa, Claudio Lafarga, Diego Klein, Tomás Goros, David Ostrosky, Paulina Maros, Estefanía Coppola, Laura Palma, Rocío Verdejo, Luz Ramos, Ale Muller, Claudia Pineda, Thanya Lopez, Rodrigo Oviedo, Zamia Fandiño, Jaime del Águila, Juan Martín Jáuregui, Magali Boyselle, Orlando Moguel, Luciana Silveyra, Carlos Hays and Patricio Gallardo.

A Telemundo Global Studios production, Preso No. 1 was co-developed with Keshet International (creators of the hit series Prisoners of War upon which Homeland is based). The series was written by Luis Felipe Ybarra, directed by Pitipol Ybarra, Javier Patron Fox and Javier Solas, with Marcos Santana, Mariana Iskandarani and Marcel Ferrer as executive producers for Telemundo with Dror Mishani and Shira Hadad, Avi Nir, Karni Ziv and Kelly Wright as executive producers for Keshet International.
