Michael Phelps and What May be a Golden End.

In his career as a professional swimmer, Michael Phelps has accumulated more than one medal a year. The 31 years old man, born in Baltimore, Maryland, has been competing in Olympic games since he was 15 years old and has been awarded 25 medals (21 gold) in his lifetime.

The victory at the 200-meter butterfly at the Olympic Games in Rio 2016 confirm Phelps the most decorated athlete in Olympic history. With a big smile on his lips and a look that shows his excitement – he raised his fists in triumph. This is how Michael has been receiving medals since 2004 in the Athens Olympics, where he won eight.

The swimmer hints that this may be his last chance to participate in an Olympics games. “To have our first-born be able to watch — I’ll say this just, in case I come back — my potential last Olympics. Just so you guys don’t beat me to death if I come back, I’m just going to say that: To have him watch the potential last races of my career is something I look forward to being able to share with him” said Phelps.

Even though Michael has not a lot more to achieve in his career, sports experts and fellow swimmers suggest that he may not retire after this triumph. Regardless of what lies in his future, his fellow teammates respect him greatly and recognize the milestone of the Rio Olympics in that he may be visiting his last professional stage as a swimmer.
