Real Madrid French coach Zinedine Zidane has renewed confidence on Tuesday in Colombian forward James Rodriguez as well as Isco Alarcon before the match against German side Wolfsburg on Wednesday in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals.
Both players have not played a single minute in the Clasico of last Saturday, while the Frenchman also defended Sergio Ramos, who was sent off against Barcelona; however, Real Madrid managed to win 2-1.
In a press conference held on Tuesday, Zidane said “I’d like to play everyone as they are all very good players. If they don’t play it is difficult, everyone wants to play.”
“But I have to choose. We have 22 in the squad and I have to choose 11. James and Isco will have prominence here until the end of the season,” Zidane added.
As for Sergio Ramos, who received his second consecutive red card in La Liga, Zizou said that his defender is approaching his best shape despite suffering continuous injuries.
