While Justin Trudeau, the Canadian Prime Minister, is known among other things for his love of selfies, another Canadian Justin, the singer Justin Bieber, has declared war against selfies.
Bieber posted on his Instagram account that constantly taking selfies with his fans made him feel like a “zoo animal”.
“If you happen to see me out somewhere, know that I’m not gonna take a picture. I’m done taking pictures,” said the artist.
“It has gotten to the point that people won’t even say hi to me or recognize me as a human, I feel like a zoo animal, and I wanna be able to keep my sanity,” added the singer.
“I realize people will be disappointed but I don’t owe anybody a picture. And people who say ‘I bought your album’, know that you got what you paid for: AN ALBUM. It doesn’t say in the fine print whenever you see me you also get a photo,” said the 22-year-old singer.
Two months ago the artist also announced on Instagram that he would cancel a scheduled meet-and-greet session with fans because the event “filled” him with other people’s “spiritual energy” which would leave him “drained and unhappy”.
