Colombian defender Cristian Zapata has renewed his contract with Milan until June 30, 2019, extending the previous agreement, which expires in 2017, the Italian club said on Friday.
Zapata is currently in the United States to take part in the the Copa America with the Colombian national team. He joined Milan in 2012 from Villarreal and played 89 games and scored 3 goals with the Italian team.
Last season, the Colombian became one of the fixed starters of Coach Cristian Brocchi.
Milan also renewed the contract of his compatriot Jherson Vergara, who also signed until 2019.
Vergara, 22, played the last two seasons on loan at Avellino and Livorno, but everything indicates that he will join the first team of Milan before July.
