The Cannes Film Festival welcomed with applause on Tuesday the Spanish movie “Julieta” by renowned Spanish director Pedro Almodovar, who is competing to win the Palme d’Or award.
Starring Emma Suarez and Adriana Ugarte, many audiences consider this movie as a return to the great films by the Spanish director.

The film received 7.1 stars out of ten by movie review portal International Movie Database (IMDb).

Spanish critics lauded the film, with Andres Arconada from Digital Freedom and Spanish Radio calling it “A good dramatic story that masterfully manages tears.”

But it has failed to impress some American reviewers, such as the Hollywood Reporter, which called it ‘a tie-me-downer of a pastiche’, ‘excessively random’ and ‘deeply unsatisfying’.
