Presentando a Johanna Carmona

Introducing Johanna Carmona

When asking Johanna Carmona a year ago what she would be doing today, her answer ranged from continuing to get justice for victims of sexual assault and child abuse to finding platforms for her community to express safety concerns with the local precinct. She would not have foreseen herself playing a political role. But the opportunity rose with an endorsement by Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan for her very own seat, and now Johanna is able to do exactly what she said she would and more.

From a young age Johanna strived to give back to her community and found the right tools to do so. From devoting her time as a youth mentor to being a Hispanic community liaison for Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan, Johanna connected individuals to the programs they needed most. As she professionally grew, she dove deeper and has been a true champion in fighting for human rights as she has helped children, immigrants, human trafficking victims, and 9/11 first responders. Johanna has long been a helping hand in reflecting safety.

Johanna Carmona is the only female candidate running for District 37. Her team is filled with self-driven and diverse Queens Natives. It’s crucial to have that representation in Albany. No it’s not about voting based on gender and race. It’s about voting for those that understand the hardships in the community firsthand and can relate to their constituents’ struggle. Johanna has seen Sunnyside, Woodside, Maspeth, LIC and Ridgewood transform. She has first handedly been a part of how they have evolved and as your Assemblywoman she will continue to be an advocate of their growth while keeping the roots and values alive.
