On Tuesday, March 23 starting at 6:30 pm at the Village East CInema, the Colombian Film Festival will roll out its red carpet and start-off its 4th edition with the U.S. premiere of ANNA. The first feature by Colombian-French director Jacques Toulemonde is a road movie between France and Colombia, that tells the story of a young Colombian mother trying to win her son’s love back.

Colombian actress Juana Acosta, a young mother that lives in Paris, tries to spend more time with her ten-year-old son, Nathan, but Philippe, her ex-husband, doesn’t trust her anymore and threatens her to take full custody of the child. Having no other choice, she convinces her boyfriend Bruno to help her, and the three of them fly away to Colombia.

During this journey, Anna will strive to build a new family, and will face the difficulty of being a mother.

More than 16 films will be shown to the New York audiences during the 5-day festival, being the biggest celebration to the Colombian film industry out of the Colombian boundaries. Actors and filmmakers will be in town to participate in the different events, including Q&As and panels.

Actors Carolina Guerra, Juan Acosta, Carolina Ravassa, and directors Jacques Toulemonde, Daniela Abad, Carlos Tribiño, Riccardo Gabrielli, and Cesar Augusto Acevedo, will walk down the red carpet at Village East Cinema along with local Latino celebrities.
