HAITÍ THE NEW MISS HERITAGE GLOBAL 2022

– South Africa wrapped up Heritage Month with an international pageant that celebrates the world’s culture and heritage. On the 24th of September 2022, Haiti-born Abigail Pierre-Louis was crowned as Miss Heritage Global Queen for 2022 at the prestigious pageant in Limpopo, Kalahari Waterfront.

The Miss Heritage Global event had over 30 contestants from different countries competing for the title of Miss Heritage Global 2022 title and representing her home country and culture Haiti, Abigail took it home. Representing Zimbabwe was Eva Mzondiwa who came as the first runner-up and representing South Africa was Zabelo Hlabisa who came as second runner-up.

“Being crowned as Miss Heritage Global 2022 is a huge honour for me and my beautiful country- Haiti. I am very passionate about the advancement of Haiti and even more excited to be able to be a connecting force for countries around the world. Miss Heritage Global has a lot of potential to fulfill its mission worldwide, and I am excited to help people learn about themselves and each other, and see the beauty in our differences as we united under this organisation. I am looking forward to making a change and a positive impact. The world doesn’t know what’s coming but with the Miss Heritage Global name, we will bring to light the beauty of individuals worldwide,” said the newly Miss Heritage Global 2022 – Abigail Pierre-Louis.

The Miss Heritage Global pageant that celebrates and showcases the world’s culture was hosted by actress and media personality Khanyi Mbau and comedian Mpho Popps. South African musician Master KG opened the event with his hit song, Jerusalema with additional artist performances by Lady Du, Paige RSA and a grand closing performance by Makhadzi.

During the event, Mpho Popps who’s known for his comedy skits dramatically walked away from the stage pretending to return an envelope that contained the names of the top 3 contestants back to the judges.

Mrs Mbofholowo Mbodi, CEO of Miss Heritage Global words to the newly crowned queen: “The things that make us different are the very same things that make us the same. For loving yourself and representing those who came before you, you are the true definition of a queen. May you continue to hold your flag high up and show those who come after you that you cannot know who you are if you do not know where you come from. Congratulations once again Abigail and we’re proud to have you as our Miss Heritage Global 2022 Queen.”

The pageant had a diverse judging panel from both local and international, including former Miss South Africa 2020 Shudufhadzo Musida, Alina Castillo who is former Miss Heritage Costa Rica 2019, Elizabeth Ortiz who is continental Director for Latin America and Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Ghana Tourism Development Company to name a few.
